Asia Cup Final: Here’s how Pakistan can qualify

India has secured their spot in the final of the 2023 Asia Cup by defeating Sri Lanka by 41 runs during the Super 4 clash in Colombo on Tuesday and now Pakistan will face Sri Lanka.

Currently, India is leading the Super 4 standings in the 2023 Asia Cup with 4 points and one game remaining against Bangladesh, who have been eliminated from the tournament.

Despite a significant loss to India, Pakistan still has a chance to reach the tournament final. Before facing India, Pakistan had a convincing win against Bangladesh in the Super 4 phase. However, they now have only one Super 4 match left, which is against Sri Lanka.

As both Pakistan and Sri Lanka have accumulated 2 points each after playing two Super 4 matches, their upcoming encounter on Thursday can be considered a virtual semi-final. The winner of this match will advance to face India in the final.

In the event that the Sri Lanka vs. Pakistan match is affected by rain and gets washed out, Sri Lanka will qualify for the final due to their superior net run rate (-0.200) compared to Pakistan’s (-1.892).
