The International Cricket Council (ICC) has unveiled its nominations for the Player of the Month for August.
Among the contenders for the award are two Pakistani players, Captain Babar Azam and the vice captain Shadab Khan. These nominations are in recognition of their outstanding performances during the series against Afghanistan and the Asia Cup match against Nepal.
Babar Azam’s notable contribution came in the form of a remarkable innings where he scored 151 runs from 131 balls against Nepal in the Asia Cup. In the same match, Shadab Khan showcased his bowling prowess by taking four wickets for just 27 runs in 6.4 overs.

Notably, if Babar Azam secures the award, it will mark his third win in this category.
In addition to the Pakistani duo, Nicholas Pooran of the West Indies has also earned a nomination for the Men’s Player of the Month accolade.
It’s worth noting that the ultimate recipient of the Player of the Month award will be determined through a combination of fan votes and votes from the Voting Academy.
