World Cup 2023: South Africa squad announced

Cricket South Africa (CSA) has officially unveiled its men’s squad for the eagerly awaited ODI World Cup 2023, scheduled to be held in India.

During a live press conference held on Tuesday, CSA officials, along with limited-overs coach Rob Walter, introduced the squad, which comprises numerous star cricketers tasked with carrying the nation’s hopes.

Temba Bavuma, an experienced cricketer with a wealth of knowledge, will lead South Africa in the ODI World Cup 2023 as the team’s captain.

The squad revealed for the ODI World Cup 2023 includes several familiar names who have played pivotal roles in South African cricket. Among them are Quinton de Kock, Reeza Hendricks, Aiden Markram, and David Miller.

South Africa’s spin bowling department will be spearheaded by the dynamic duo of Keshav Maharaj and Tabraiz Shamsi. In the realm of fast bowling, South Africa possesses a formidable trio in Kagiso Rabada, Anrich Nortje, and Marco Jansen.

One noteworthy aspect of the squad announcement was the exclusion of the young batting sensation Dewald Brevis. Despite his promising performances in domestic and franchise cricket, the selectors made the decision to omit him from the upcoming tournament.
