The captain of the Pakistan cricket team, Babar Azam, along with key players Mohammad Rizwan and Shaheen Shah Afridi, have dismissed rumors of internal conflicts within the team. They sent a clear message of unity by being seen in a friendly conversation before their match against Afghanistan on Monday.
According to a special correspondent from the Daily Jang, these three players were spotted together in the dugout at the beginning of the Afghanistan match. Shaheen and Rizwan sat on either side of Babar, symbolizing their solidarity amidst reports suggesting disagreements among senior team members.
Some social media users had claimed that certain players in the squad had exchanged heated words due to the team’s recent poor performance, having lost the last three matches, which has put their World Cup 2023 campaign in jeopardy.
In response to these speculations, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) strongly denied any internal discord within the national cricket team participating in the World Cup 2023.
They firmly asserted that the crew is united, and there’s no credible proof to aid the unfounded claims.
Furthermore, the PCB expressed unhappiness over the unfold of this fake news and highlighted the importance of maintaining journalistic ethics whilst reporting such allegations.
