Captain Rohit Sharma has given an update on Shubman Gill’s availability for the highly-anticipated World Cup match against Pakistan. He mentioned that Gill is “99 percent available to play” after recovering from dengue fever, a condition that sidelined him for India’s first two victories in the tournament. Gill is expected to make a return to the field at Ahmedabad’s massive cricket stadium on Saturday.
Captain Rohit Sharma didn’t divulge the final lineup for the match, and when asked about Gill’s participation, he said, “we will see tomorrow.” Shubman Gill, who is 24 years old, had a practice session after his recovery. He had been hospitalized in Chennai and missed India’s win over Australia due to dengue fever. This infection was contracted before the tournament, and Gill didn’t travel with the team for the second match against Afghanistan.
In Gill’s absence, Ishan Kishan took on the role of opener in both matches, scoring zero and 47. Pakistan, on the other hand, enters this highly-anticipated match at the Narendra Modi Stadium, a colossal venue with a seating capacity of 132,000, with a perfect record of two wins from two games in the tournament so far.
