Public Holiday announced in Lahore

The interim Chief Minister of Punjab, Mohsin Naqvi, has declared that Lahore will observe a public holiday on September 7th, which falls on a Thursday, in honor of the annual Urs (death anniversary) of Data Ganj Bakhsh Syed Ali Hajwari (RA).

During his visit to Data Darbar, CM Naqvi stated that the three-day Urs ceremony will commence tomorrow, on Tuesday.

He emphasized that the festivities will span from Tuesday to Thursday, and efforts are underway to enhance the event’s arrangements.

“We have also convened a meeting with the commissioner to ensure that there is adequate provision for langar khana to cater to all attendees,” he mentioned. Furthermore, arrangements are being made for mehfil-e-samaa, where renowned qawwals will perform.

CM Naqvi reiterated his commitment to ensuring the best possible arrangements for Chehlum, processions, and Urs.

Regarding traffic management, he assured that a comprehensive plan is in place, and if security clearance is obtained, parking facilities will be provided.

Furthermore, preparations for the expansion of Data Darbar are set to commence soon, and there are plans to expand the premises of the mosques and shrine as well.
