Consultative Workshop on Gender Equality in Higher Education Leadership and Decision-Making Bodies in Pakistan.
Lahore: Quaid-i-Azam University, in tandem with the University of Gloucestershire and the British Council, organized the 4th Consultative Workshop under the British Council Funded Project- “Improving Gender Equality in Pakistan Higher Education Leadership and Decision Making” in a local hotel here in Lahore.
The Project Team- Prof. Dr. Adeela Shafi -Principal Lead University Gloucestershire UK, Prof. Dr. Hazir Ullah-Principal Lead Quaid-i-Azam University Pakistan and Madiha Sajid- Imperial College London introduced the project and gave an overview of the Project.
The chief guest of the opening ceremony, Prof. Dr. Kahlid Mehmood-Vice Chancellor, University of the Punjab expressed his very optimistic views on the issue highlighting different barriers to and strategies for achieving Gender Equality in Higher Education Leadership and Decision-Making Bodies.
The workshop was attended by numerous male and female women leaders from both public and private universities of Punjab who suggested diverse solutions to the issue of gender equality in academia.
