Islamabad: In response to reports of over 12,000 Afghan citizens successfully obtaining Pakistani passports in Saudi Arabia, the Ministry of Interior has announced the formation of an investigative committee.

Just a few days ago, Saudi Arabian authorities revealed their significant achievement, stating that more than 12,000 Pakistani passports had been obtained by Afghan citizens. This revelation occurred in Riyadh and has presented a challenge to the Pakistani government. Afghan citizens were able to acquire these Pakistani passports through various passport centers in Pakistan.

According to information provided by the Ministry of Interior, the investigative committee will be composed of the Director-General of the Passport Committee, the Deputy Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, officials from the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), and senior officers from NADRA. The committee has been granted full authority to thoroughly investigate the details of this matter.

Furthermore, the committee is tasked with identifying individuals involved in this matter and pinpointing any system flaws. The committee is expected to submit its report within 15 days, with hopes of achieving internal accountability and taking necessary actions in response to this issue.
