During a press conference in Islamabad, Caretaker Interior Minister Sarfaraz Bugti emphasized the government’s unwavering commitment to combat smuggling and terrorism.
He highlighted the successful joint efforts with provinces in cracking down on smuggling operations, which have had a positive impact on the country’s economy.
Sarfaraz Bugti also reiterated his belief that the Indian intelligence agency RAW was involved in supporting terrorist activities in Balochistan.
He mentioned the government’s efforts to stabilize the exchange rate and take action against currency smugglers, with 168 individuals facing consequences for such activities.
In terms of food security, Bugti mentioned that comprehensive data had been collected from all provinces to address issues like sugar smuggling, utilizing modern technology for enforcement. Additionally, significant quantities of smuggled petrol and various drugs had been seized, with actions taken against those selling illegal fuel.
Regarding recent terror attacks in Balochistan, Bugti stressed that evidence pointed towards RAW’s involvement, and he made it clear that no extremist activities would be tolerated within the country.
