About the Role
As an Area Sales Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in overseeing on-ground indirect sales activities within the assigned territory through the franchise channel. Your mission is to seize market opportunities and translate them into tangible sales results.
Your Impactful Goals
Your daily tasks will revolve around achieving assigned monthly and annual targets through effective franchise management. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) include:
- Gross Adds – First Call Activation (FCA)
- Revenue – Primary & Secondary Recharge
- Business growth and improvement of market share within the assigned territory
- Financial Services, Devices, and Internet product offerings
- Location-based Business Segment KPIs
- Execution of key strategic projects aligned with organizational goals
- Franchise servicing and retail enablement of the assigned territory
- Ensuring adherence to Telenor’s Way of Work and Values within the Franchise Channel
A Glimpse into Your Typical Day
Your daily routine will be anything but mundane:
- Timely and effective communication of targets, with monitoring and reporting.
- Regular market visits to gather insights and competitor information.
- Route planning and target setting for Retail Sales Officers (RSOs).
- Profitability monitoring and staffing at the franchise end.
- Motivating and training staff through engaging sessions.
- Continuous improvement of trends, such as minimum balance retailers and servicing at the retail level.
- Expanding the retail footprint to increase the availability of products and services.
- Monitoring channel investments.
- Ensuring and enhancing the quality of sales.
- Collaborating on other projects assigned by your line manager to constantly improve Sales & Distribution target achievement.
Your Career Path

What We’re Looking For
To excel in this role, you should have:
- A Bachelor’s degree with specialization in any field, preferably on the business side.
- Experience in a sales and/or distribution role in an organization with a sizable distribution network. Experience as a team leader would be preferred.
