World Cup 2023: Amitabh Bachchan golden ticket

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has granted a special invitation to Bollywood icon Amitabh Bachchan for the 2023 Cricket World Cup.

The cricket board made this announcement through its official social media platform, X (formerly Twitter), today.

On X, the BCCI stated, “A prestigious invitation for our revered legends! BCCI Honorary Secretary @JayShah had the privilege of presenting a special invitation to none other than the “Superstar of the Millennium,” Mr. Shri @SrBachchan.”

“As a legendary actor and a passionate cricket enthusiast, Mr. Bachchan’s steadfast support for #TeamIndia continues to be a source of inspiration for us all. We are delighted to have him as part of the @ICC @CricketWorldCup2023,” added the BCCI.

The 2023 Cricket World Cup, which is the largest in its history, will feature ten teams competing across ten different venues from October 5 to November 19. The tournament will kick off at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad and conclude with the final match at the same venue. In total, there will be 48 matches played during the 46-day event.

Apart from Ahmedabad and Chennai, the other hosting cities include Bengaluru, Delhi, Dharamsala, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, and Pune. Additionally, Guwahati and Thiruvananthapuram will join Hyderabad in hosting practice matches.
