Before the training session, Pakistan’s captain, Babar Azam, held a pre-match press conference where he emphasized the crucial role of the toss in the forthcoming clash. He pointed out that the toss had played a significant role in previous matches, especially when the game was played under the lights. Babar also mentioned the presence of dew on the pitch the previous night and revealed that they would consult with the umpires about the possibility of using outfield spray to manage the dew.
Babar Azam expressed hope that the team would receive strong support from the fans in Ahmedabad during the match, just as they did in Hyderabad. However, he expressed a wish that Pakistan fans could have been allowed to travel to India to back their team.
