Actor Akhil Mishra, renowned for his portrayal of librarian Dubey in Aamir Khan’s ‘3 Idiots,’ passed away on September 21.
The 67-year-old actor was in the midst of a project shoot in Hyderabad when the tragic incident occurred. He is survived by his wife, actress Suzanne Bernert.
Suzanne’s spokesperson confirmed the actor’s demise and disclosed that he met with a fatal accident in the kitchen. “While attempting to perform a task on a chair in the kitchen, he unfortunately slipped and sustained a head injury.

He was discovered in a critical condition, surrounded by blood, and was immediately rushed to the hospital. Despite the doctors’ best efforts, he succumbed to his injuries a few hours later.”
Akhil Mishra’s acting career spanned several films, including ‘Don,’ ‘Gandhi My Father,’ and ‘Shikhar,’ among others. His portrayal of librarian Dubey in ‘3 Idiots’ garnered widespread admiration. In addition to his film roles, Akhil was a familiar face on various popular television shows such as ‘Uttaran,’ ‘Udaan,’ ‘CID,’ ‘Shrimaan Shrimati,’ and ‘Hatim,’ among others.
On a personal note, Akhil tied the knot with German actress Suzanne Bernert on February 3, 2009, and later celebrated a traditional wedding ceremony on September 30, 2011.
